Background
DAMAC Properties was formed in 2002 as the property arm of the DAMAC Group, founded by Emirati businessman Hussain Sajwani. It builds apartments, villas, townhouses and serviced residences, and is active in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah (DAMAC Properties).
The scale DAMAC reports
- More than 50,000 units delivered, according to the company.
- More than 54,000 units in progress and planning, covering over 100 million sq ft of project area, according to the company.
These are DAMAC’s own figures (source). As with any developer, check the track record of the specific project and its escrow arrangements before you commit.
Branded residences and master communities
Many DAMAC towers are co-branded with fashion, jewellery, hospitality and sports names. DAMAC lists collaborations including Roberto Cavalli, de GRISOGONO, Chelsea FC, Paramount Hotels, Trump, Mandarin Oriental, Radisson and Rotana (DAMAC Properties). Its master communities in Dubai include DAMAC Hills, DAMAC Hills 2, DAMAC Lagoons, DAMAC Islands and DAMAC Riverside.
